I really don't know what rating to give this book.

Did I like it? YES. I really did (regardless of how long it took me to read it). Lots of action. LOTS of action. I am guessing there will be a book two. And I'll read it.

BUT ...

I did find it more than a little confusing. I don't think someone who wasn't a sci-fi/fantasy fan would be willing to put up with all of the unanswered questions. Some of the uncertainties get clarified as you keep reading but it definitely takes patience.

Another reviewer mentioned the similarities to Joss Whedon's Firefly. I wonder if that's why I liked it? Because now that I've read that ... I totally see it. It is almost a retelling.
