The world has experienced plagues and disease that has wiped out large numbers--but not lately. Every year the Health Dept warns this could be the year of the long over due pandemic. While I certainly would like to avoid a pandemic, I have often pondered what would happen if our world faced a deadly fast spreading disease.
Author Laura Kasischke combines this idea with that being a new step mom while married to a husband (the father of the children) that constantly travels for work. The step daughters prove to be wicked, while the elementary age son really connects with his new step mom.
