After a certain incident at a summer party, Melinda Sordino is a social pariah. Unable to talk to anyone about what happened at that party, Mel suffers in silence, withdrawing from everyone who already isn't ignoring her. She won't even talk to herself about what happened. The only person who seems to understand is Mr. Freeman, her decidedly strange art teacher. Forcing her to express herself, she has to come to terms with what happens and finally speak.
This book was amazing on epic proportions. Even though I have never been her exact situation but I felt her pain all the same.
