This is a pithy little book and well worth the read-time. As Gilbert notes early in the book, although we Christians (all of us) should be crystal clear about the contents of the Gospel, most of us are not. In the first chapter Gilbert deftly outlines the non-negotioable contents of the Gospel from the first four chapters of Romans: God, Man, Christ and Response. With each of these "headings" Gilbert asks a question to focus our understanding:

God: Who made us, and to whom are we accountable?

Man: What is our problem? In other words, are we in trouble and why?

Christ: What is God's solution to that problem? How has He acted to save us from it?

Response: How do I - myself, right here, right now - how do I come to be included in that salvation? What makes this good news for me and not just for someone else?

This book would be useful/edifying for someone who has never understood the Gospel and for the Christian wanting some help in sharing his faith.
