This was a fun story to read, because I grew up in a similar time frame these children did. This story is written by four siblings and their account of becoming orphans in the 1980's. The story begins with the death of the children's father, and follows their mother's slow descent into cancer, and death. The children are eventually "farmed out," to different families, but continue the story until they are eventually reunited. This book explores complex relationships between siblings, parents, and adopted families.
