SNOW LIKE ASHES was a touching story about a girl determined to save her people, even when she has grown in exile, aware of her roots only through the stories told by others. She dreams of seeing Winter for the first time and restoring order to the chaos and destruction brought to her homeland by ancient, evil forces. Meira is a strong heroine, made only vulnerable by her desire to matter and make a difference. At first, she acts with impetuous and sometimes without thinking, but as her character develops, she learns the importance of what she must do for her people and country. Winterians here comes Meira!

This is a YA fantasy novel with two love interests, a handful of actions scenes and the chronicles of a civilization living in slavery and holding on to the hope of one day attaining freedom. Well done!
