really liked it

This would've been an easy 5 stars with a different artist on the book. Ellis's tale of grand sci fi concepts, mystery, military necessity just nails the X-Men. Despite the darkness of the story, it had a lot of laugh out loud moments.

Unfortunately, Bianchi's art, beautiful in its way in static scenes, is muddled, muddy and confusing in action sequences. There were any number of pages I just turned, narrating to myself as "and stuff happened." If Cassaday were still drawing, this would have been a brilliant comic.
