I just finished this book last night. I can't remember many books I've read where the protagonist had a disability or even that dealt with themes of disability, but Lois Lowry dealt with this theme well. I read The Giver when I was in 7th grade and reading this made me want to go back and re-visit that one and also read the other one in the series. It doesn't take place in the same village as The Giver, but there are parallels, I will not say more. I read it for class and my Literature Circle decided to split the book in half and discuss it in 2 parts. it was extremely difficult not to read it in one sitting though!
