This book felt significantly different from the first two in the Brunetti series. There was a lot less about architecture, food, and Italy in general... and a lot more about the victim and those with similar lifestyles (male transvestite hookers), which I didn't enjoy or connect with. Her first two (an opera conductor, and an army officer) were much easier to relate to. I'm hoping her remaining books will be more in line with the first two than this one.
