it was amazing

Simmons turns his masterly eye on the ill-fated Franklyn expedition which attempted to find the North-West Passage in the late 1800s, only to fall victim to encroaching ice and eventual cannibalism. In this alternative version, however, the ice-bound crew find themselves confronted with a supernatural terror even more dangerous than the elements. Packed with chills that cut to the bone, this is a fine example of historical horror, just make sure you've got the thermostat turned up when you're reading.
