it was amazing

The book opens with Matt Conner faking his death because of a broken heart. Next, FBI agent Kelly Feinman goes off the rails. First in pursuit of a sadistic serial killer dubbed the Acid Man. Then she hunts for a baby who was kidnapped from a house while the mother napped. Kelly does most of this without the FBI’s blessing because she knows better than everyone else – not my favorite type of character. The book redeems itself, however. It is well-written and has so many twists and turns that I gave up trying to guess where it was headed and enjoyed the ride. Some unsympathetic characters end up sympathetic and vice versa. It’s worth the read to find out who and why, and how it all ties together.
