I loved this book! Bryson has an utterly entertaining and intruiging manner of writing in which he manages to entwine historical facts and other miscellaneous tidbits into his travel stories. It's like getting an education while reading a travelogue! Not to mention that he is funny ... super funny. There were moments when I was literally laughing out loud, and reading passages to my Aussie best friend (who has already read the book), just so we could laugh together.

I'm so very glad that I read this book before I went on my first-ever journey Down Under a little while ago. This book gave me such a good framework in terms of all things Aussie. Ok, so not ALL things, but much more than I knew before!
