it was ok

Unfortunately, Volume Three – Scott Pilgrim and the Infinite Sadness – turns in a silly narrative mess. As I can figure it out, it’s essentially an endless barrage of fisticuffs between Scott and his jilted girlfriends, if not of the latter amongst themselves. (Forget guys fighting over the girl. In O’Malley’s comic book fantasy, the girls are just as willing to duke it out over the boy. How’s that for a nerdish fan-boy fantasy?) Honestly, after this dizzying third volume, I’m not sure I’m ready for three more before the series ends. Art aside, I’m not sure they’re worth it. And what the cinematic version of Scott Pilgrim will bring out of this convoluted and possibly pointless mess, I have no clue. Here’s hoping it’s better than this third volume.
