A young adult fantasy novel which has a boy with special hidden gifts. Luke Rayburn lives in the real world with his parents. Suddenly agents of an evil dark force try to gain control of him. As youthful bullies attack him one evening he is saved from a beating by a tree spirit. To solve family financial problems, Luke's father returns to the military and will be gone for a year. The rest of the family are sent to Countryside in an alternative plane for under the protection of his grandparents. But the struggle between good and evil continues with Luke as a pivotal fixture. This was a free review copy from the author which I highly recommend.
