This is the story of an innocent, shy teenage boy. His name is Francis and he's not good at very much. He doesn't think highly of himself until he meets a man named Larry Lasalle. He's the head of the rec center in their New England town. Its at this rec center he gets up the courage to hold hands with the love of his life (Nicole) and gain skills in table tennis. It is also because of Larry that Francis decides to forge his birth certificate in order to enlist in the armed forces. He comes back a mutilated hero after falling on a grenade. After Francis' war missions are over he has one mission left...find and kill Larry Lasalle.

It wasn't my favorite book but it wasn't bad. It kept me interested wanting to know what made Francis go from idolizing Larry to wanting to kill him. Definitely a book for guys with themes of war, revenge, etc...
