An action packed adventure full of weird and wonderful monsters, magic and martial arts. Has a real Hollywood blockbuster feel to it. I liked the MC, Kenny - and his sense of humour and gung-ho attitude. Plot builds to a thrilling finale and whets your appetite for more. I especially liked the way the author introduces his readers to Japanese language, writing, culture and food. Boys will love it. But there's plenty here for female readers too - namely Kenny's plucky side-kick, Kiyomi. Highly recommended!
