What if instead of moving to Israel, the world's Jews gained a temporary homeland in Sitka, Alaska, becoming known as the "Frozen Chosen?" And now, what if the homeland that they had been living in for so many years was about to revert back to the American government?
This is Michael Chabon at his finest...enjoying language, his characters, and the potential of a great "What if..."
