Great idea for a book that just wasn't executed as well as I would have hoped. I am sure it has to do with the fact that this is the author's first novel and so the narrative felt rough at times and just like it didn't flow as well as it could have. This book reminded me a lot of Uglies. Gaia, a young 16 year old, helps deliver babies and the first 3 born each month are given to the Enclave. When her parents are taken prisoner by the Enclave however, she must decode the messages of her parents in order to save herself and many others. The book is pretty fast paced and clearly the first book of what I expect will be a trilogy. Good read but like I said, a bit tough at times.
