A shattering memoir by Tim Wise detailing point by point the often unstated and status-quo white privilege that exists in the United States today that permeate the minds of even the most enlightened individuals. Wise went to school at Tulane and has an ending chapter about New Orleans that was very poignant. I wish he had tied examples of white privilege to more contemporary and historical events outside of his own personal experience, but after all, it was a memoir. This should lead to another book where he does that.
