really liked it
bookshelves: fairy-tale, fiction, young-adult, retellings

The Twelve Dancing Princesses fairy tale has always been one of my favorites so I was ecstatic when a friend recommended this re-telling of the tale and I was not disappointed. It's not easy to keep track of and give a personality to twelve princesses but George handles it extremely well. I also liked her revision on the story, making it have more depth than these were twelve airheads who wanted to dance every night. The hero, while I liked him, was almost too good. A girl likes a few flaws in a good hero to show some growth on his side as well as the heroine's but really, it's a weak complaint. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters and am looking forward to reading more of George's books.
