Overworked, mannered folderol. Simultaneously predictable and unbelievable. Don't give your novel a child narrator and then make her say things like "twinned cherries" and "my mother's ponytail tassel." If we don't find out what happens to the chair-leg brother I'm going to be extra-irritated.

It would've made a fascinating short story. Instead she natters on for 300 pages and it feels rubbery, like overchewed gum.
