bookshelves: mysteries

A weird structure for a suspense/mystery novel--there's lots of angstful monologue by the narrator, and a few mysterious strangers help her out, but otherwise not much happens until the last thirty pages or so. She never actually sees a dead body. An interesting technique--fairly unusual in my experience. A pretty entertaining book overall.
