So, there's two funny stories behind this book. Number one, for some reason my father gave me this book two Christmases in a row. I opened it the second year and said, "Um, Dad, you gave me this last year." He didn't believe me, so I went to my room and produced the first copy. He meant well but he wasn't always the brightest crayon in the box. Number two, the name of the Romulan in this book is Taryn, which was also the name of one of the girls in my grade school class. She didn't find it funny that she was the evil Romulan.

It's been awhile since I read this book. The focus of it is on Sarek who is overseeing another negotiation. The book also contains the death of Amanda, Spock's mother as well.
