An epistolary novel of the descent of novelist and literary editor Andrew Whittaker. In his letters to his ex-wife, to former literary friends, to his banker and his lawyer, to the tenants of the buildings he inherited but which are falling apart due to lack of upkeep, to contributors to his literary magazine Soap, and some horrible excerpts from the novel he is trying to write, we see Andrew losing energy and losing control. Andrew's delusions and his honesty are humorous, darkly so.
