it was amazing
bookshelves: non-fiction, memoir
Read from May 29 to June 01, 2010

I am completely embarrassed to say that it took me until the age of 22 to read this book. This is one of the most amazing lives I've ever read about. Maya Angelou's childhood struggles are recounted here in her enthralling, sad, funny and inspirational prose. Angelou is a woman of courage and strength, a gifted writer who is rightfully celebrated. This is now one of my most treasured books I've read.
