it was amazing
bookshelves: books-i-own

I'm always a big fan of Brenna's writing; her brand of dark imagery is something I wish I was capable of reproducing, but I think Fiendish has bumped The Space Between out of the favorite spot for me. Clementine's story was so curious and wicked and fun. And I know those things don't sound like they go together necessarily, but they do in this story.

[Spoilers ahead] I think you were meant to fear the fiends, but I couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for them, or for the people like Clementine with fiendish blood in their system. It seemed to me they could take over the world if they'd wanted, but that fiend blood kept them quiet and submissive and that made me feel sorry for them. To harness such great power and not be able to do a thing with it. Just sad. At leas they had each other in the end.
