really liked it

More love for Torin Kerr. Tanya Huff knows how to write gut-punching, fist pumping scenes. This prison-escape adventure has more intense action than the previous books (how is that even possible!) but also more character development, more emotion. Torin is more conflicted than she's ever been, but she does what she has to to Get Us Out Alive—she may be wrong but she's never in doubt.

Craig Ryder gets more screentime and I really like this guy; furry reporter is still annoying but really growing on me! I am finding myself talking in her weird grammar after I am reading her scenes; Tanya Huff is being very good at developing aliens which are having these kind of interesting quirks.)

Excellent antagonists (there are several she has to go through before she gets to the real one.) Seriously fascinating plot twists—even when you sort of see them coming they still blindside you.
