Maeve Binchy is my favorite author and each time I finish one of her books I know why. Her books are the perfect mix of love, compassion and suspense. This story takes place in a heart clinic in Ireland. Dr. Clara Casey is offered a temporary job at the clinic and is reluctant to take the job as she has so much going on in her life personally that she is not sure she has room for it. However, since it is temporary she decides to do it. The clinic ends up being the best thing she has ever done. Both she and the clinic grow in such wonderful ways. Dr. Casey hires a wonderful group of people for the clinic who are able to meet the high demands of some very difficult patients while at the same time both the staff and the patients are making great marks in each others lives. One character in particular who really shined was Ania from Poland. She was disgraced in her home land by a cheat and left for Ireland for a better life. What awaited her in Ireland was truly a revitalization to her life. Other characters who were notable were Dr. Declan and Fiona. It is the kind of book you just want to keep reading and never put down. As with all the books I have ever read by Maeve Binchy, this book transported me to Ireland and I felt as if I knew each of the characters in the book personally.
