I love Artemis Fowl, but I was disappointed with this book, probably because for most of the novel, Artemis is not himself. He's suffering from the Atlantis Complex which makes him act more like a foolish teenager than a criminal mastermind. Unfortunately, Artemis is most interesting when he is behaving insufferably, flaunting his intelligence and trying to outmaneuver others. The end of this book made it obvious that we haven't heard the last of Artemis Fowl. I just hope that when he returns, he's cured of the complex and back to being his wonderful, obnoxious self.
