it was amazing

Who hasn’t been cold, hungry and lonely? And who doesn’t like to get a package in the mail?

Polar Bear’s igloo—and his life—seem cold, dark and dreary. He seeks help from his bear friends the world over—Australia, Malaysia, China, Alaska, and Peru—and each friend responds with a special gift from their habitat. Whether climbing a gum tree, swooping on a vine swing or rafting down a swift Alaskan river, the intrepid Penguin Postman provides wordless commentary on each bear’s living space.

What a beautiful way for young children to learn a little geography, appreciate nature in other parts of the world, and begin to understand that those who are very different from us have much to offer! The surprise at the end ties the story together beautifully as Polar Bear’s friends unite to give him the best gift of all.
