The book Tenth Grade Bleeds by Heather Brewer I think is a perfect extreme example of what being a teenager is like. The book is about a teenage vampire named Vlad Tod in tenth grade who is trying to hide the fact that he is a vampire. The only people that know that he is a vampire are his best friend Henry and his Aunt that takes care of him. His parents were killed by other vampires when he was eight. The whole book is about Vlad trying to fit in at school and escape any evil Vampires that might come and try to kill him. Because Vlad has to drink blood, his aunt who is a nurse, steals bags of blood from the hospital, where she works. Vlad also is constantly trying not to feed from humans around him
One example of this book expresses what its like to be a teenager is, is Vlad often has to hide his fangs that constantly and without warning slip out of the top of his gum. For a normal teenager, they might be trying to hide acne or pimples that look embarrassing.
Another example is always putting on sunscreen because he can’t survive for long in the sun because he is a vampire. For a normal teenager, you could have a hobby that other people find weird and you are trying for others not to notice it.
