It is the best writing I have ever had the pleasure of reading, this simple book with simple people living a simple life is much more than just a love story. Its a prodigal work that both sees forward and looks backward into what love means for two people

It taught me that love can be true, even when the world stands against it. that love is individually and collectively its own being to be grown and cultivated and loved. It made me cherish the experiences of growing up Negro in America, and want to share in the collective stories of others who have them.
