it was ok
bookshelves: children-s-books, series

I'm sure this classic series was funny and endearing at the time, but I found the series to be outdated and somewhat insulting to kids and encouraging some ideas and habits that would be dangerous today. Not that I don't think kids are smart enough to usually know the difference between reality and fiction, but I really felt this book didn't make it clear enough for kids to get, as so much is bogged down in a totally different time, setting, social mores, etc. I also found the book repetitive and predictable. I'm sure there are die hard fans, but I am certainly not one of them.

Kathy Wow. I remember really liking these stories as a kid, I'll have to re-read them and see how they hold up
