it was amazing
bookshelves: futuristic-sci-fi-timetravel, mm, 5-star-books
Read from May 23 to 24, 2010

Deep Probe was hilarious. It had me laughing out loud in places and wanting my own alien 'rod'. Everybody does everybody in this book so those who don't even like a serious menage, don't bother with this. It's group sex as its funniest yet, like all true romances, they pair off in the end because the rod has a romantic core. One of the men described it as cosmic Cupid. Another worried that a giant calamari will pop out of their bellies a la Alien, the movie.

There's another movie reference - Mr Spock and and Capt Kirk (doing each other, of course) and that's what this story reminded me of - a sort of gay sci-fi porn spoof of the original Star Trek episode. I watched 3 of these old ST episodes on the flight to LA last month and if you've seen any, you'll know exactly what I mean.

This is a short story - just 82 pages on my reader - and revolves around a main cast consisting of Beckett, the starship's commander, Cruz his lieutenant, Infinity the ship's doctor (who's black and has a big dick, of course), Gross who has a monster dick, Karsten and Malloy, whose name changes between Molloy and Malloy from page to page.

If you're in the mood for something rollickingly funny and hilarious, love spoofs, Star Trek and group-sex-in-space, don't miss Deep Probe. I loved it and would read it again. And again. Because despite the orgies, (even the ship had an orgasm) and the entire starship's crew are fucking each other's brains out (this happens in the background and only towards the end of the book so no details, don't worry), there is love between the couples in the main cast I listed earlier.

I want more of these stories!

Rossy Fantastic review, Elaine!

ElaineY Thank you, Rossy. I really enjoyed this one.

Rossy What is the first book in this series? I can't seem to find it. Did you like it?

ElaineY I didn't even know this was part of a series until I bought it. I haven't checked the others out and don't know how they are related. I'll take a look later.

Lori The first book Laid and the second one is Bad Cops

Rossy, if you put the name of the series in the search box, it will return all the books in that series.

ElaineY Ah, okay. I read the first book in the series, Laid. It was about horny cops. I liked it but wasn't crazy over it, unlike DP, because of the abrupt ending. I didn't buy the next book, Bad Cop.

BUT...earlier this morning, I read Heidi Cullinan's review of India Harper's Sins of Arrogance where she talked about the abruptness of the ending. I responded, recommending that she read Sins of Omission which is the continuation of the first book and which completes the story nicely.

I suspect this would be the case for Laid as well. I know I enjoyed it very much but couldn't recall why I ended up giving it 3 stars so I checked my review and it's the same reason as what I have for Sins of Arrogance.

So I'm off now to buy Bad Cop then I'll re-read Laid then BC back to back.

A.J. Llewellyn Elaine thanks for the review it was awesome!! Just to let everyone know. Laid and Bad Cops are tied together. The third book in that series is Laid 3 which will be published by www.extasybooks.com October 15.
Deep Probe is not connected story-wise at all.
Their only connection is that porn director John Bruno came up with all the concepts for me to write. So far only one, Bad Cops, has been shot by his company, Massive Studios.
