it was amazing

The most adventurous book I read all last year, 900-some pages of fierce exploration of identity, murder, art, and injustice. Recommended to me by the staff at Garden District Books in New Orleans, Bolano's masterpiece owned me for two weeks on the road to a 22-city book tour, usually open on the passenger seat so I could steal a few sentences during stoplights.
