it was ok
bookshelves: historical-fiction

Aside from the truly cringe worthy moments in this book, including Joe saying he would even marry an old lady or the character's 'ride' sitting in Joe's lap, the story is well researched. Especially the points about how the loggers lived and what they did or even wore. Toward the end of the story, it seemed to drag. Especially the bit about them going to San Francisco all of a sudden, and then coming right back. That little side story line could have been a whole book in its-self. Except that it was rushed and did not make sense.

If you can look past some REALLY fluffy bits of romance and rushed story lines. This is a fun read for maybe a beach day.
