it was ok

Nell Fitzgerald receives a beautiful Lover's Knot quilt from her grandmother, Eleanor in honor of her engagement. Shortly thereafter, with the invitations ready to mail, her fiance, Ryan, decides he needs time. Nell goes to her grandmother's house, where the handyman, Marc flirts with her. Eleanor slips on her quilt shop stairs and breaks her leg. Marc is hired to renovate the quilt store and open it into the former cafe next door and meanwhile the quilt store is moved into Eleanor's home. Ryan arrives in town to "talk", and punches Marc. Soon Marc is found dead in Eleanor's quilt shop with a pair of scissors in his back. Ryan and all the quilters club are suspects. Nell is drawn to investigate the murder partly to make sure it wasn't done by Ryan. She is drawn to the handsome young police chief, Jesse, who is a widower.

Ashley FL I would have expected anything about quilts to get an automatic three stars from you!!

Scilla I love to quilt, but that doesn't make every book which involves a quilt, a quiltshop, or quilter is well done. I keep reading them, though. This wasn't a bad book; I'm trying to be more discriminating! It was probably 2 1/2. It's got a lot of the same theme - you could see as soon as the handsome police man came into the story that he would be an "item". I'm guessing if the series goes on that Nell will evenually marry Jesse.
