I read an advance review of Prep and I knew immediately wanted to read it. The idea of boarding school fascinated me, much like it fascinates the main character, Lee. I was prepared for disappointment, as sometimes I disagree with reviewers, but I was happily surprised by the book. Curtis Sittenfeld flawlessly recreates a world of privilege that few know about. Her experiences in east coast prep schools have well prepared her to write about the daily interactions between haughty students and fairly clueless teachers. The characters are believable and relatable. You will spend most of the book cringing at the horribly awkward situations Lee gets herself into, but it all pays off in the end.

Joceline Foley I always wanted to go to boarding school when I was a kid. I thought I'd wear a uniform and smart little glasses and read all the time and the whole thing would be very romantic. My dad went to boarding school, and I'm pretty sure he still resents his parents for it to this day. That being said, thanks for loaning this book to me back in the day; it was great!
