What an odd, disturbing book! I sort of liked the story, with some exceptions. The main character was endearing. I cared about what happened to Shadow. He seemed so unaware of what he was getting into. Too bad it was all set up for him, except the prison sentence! I did not like Wednesday, the all-father. I suspected that I wasn't supposed to like him. Good call, Gaiman. Some sections of the book could actually be their own stories, like the one about the magical twins who get separated. I found that very interesting. My exceptions: language was harsh (all the expletives are not needed in any novel)and the sexual situations were too graphic (why does every male character regard his appendages the same way?? Hmm, weird.)
I was happy with the ending. Everything was tied up with a pretty bow! :)
