really liked it

Armand Argeneau seems to be having a streak of bad luck with women. Most specifically, his wives have a habit of dying.

The problem may be hereditary - as his son is on the run as well, accused of the murder of his own first life-mate.

Enter Eshe d'Aureus, an "enforcer" sent to investigate the situation. She intends to quickly do her job, find out whether the unfortunate "accidents" surrounding the Argeneau women really are just that - and tie up her report to the "vampire" Council.

Matters become complicated, though, when it appears that she and Armand are also bound by fate as life-mates. Both of them come with "extra baggage" in their past - and neither is immediately sure they want to love again. Can Eshe trust him? Can Armand afford to keep her close - when harm has befallen all of the women he's cared for over the last 500 years? Especially as it appears that Eshe is next on Someone's Hit List...

Lynsay Sands is a favourite author of mine, and I thoroughly enjoyed her latest offering. She delivers a delicious blend of romance, mystery, and humor. An awesomely cozy read!
