liked it

One of Ambrose's earlier books. I didn't enjoy the writing as much as I enjoyed Band of Brothers and Undaunted Courage, but he did a good job of weaving the two lives into the story until they met for the first, and last, time. Ambrose's higher opinion (possibly predetermined) of Crazy Horse than Custer detracted a little from his analysis at points. But overall, it was satisfying to read.
