it was amazing

I just finished this book and I am feeling so many emotions right now that it’s really hard to put it all into words. This book was an emotional rollercoaster that had me soaring up and crashing down. And it was worth every minute of it.

The main character, Louisa Clark, is a character so real it’s like you could see her sitting across from you at any second. She is down to earth and hardworking, yet at the same time is far from perfect. She didn’t go to college or get a huge career but instead is working at a local café and is more than all right with that. She loves her job and is content living at home with her parents and occasionally seeing her boyfriend, Patrick, as he prepares for marathons.

Out of nowhere, Louisa loses her spot at the café and is forced to work other minimum wage jobs as her parents need help with the bills. She tries many different things to no success, until she finds something that pays a ridiculous amount. She will be caretaker to someone named Will.

Will Traynor was the self-made millionaire that had it all- a high paying job, girls, cars, vacations- anything he could ever want. He was always traveling and doing huge things until a motorcycle accident would change his life forever. Left paralyzed from the neck down with a little bit of feeling in his hand, Will lost the desire to live. He hates everything about who he has become and how he can't do anything for himself anymore.

When Louisa begins working for the Traynors, she has no idea what she is getting herself into. Will is mean, miserable, and rude to her and his parents aren’t much warmer. She is desperate for the money to help her parents, but the stress she has to go through on a day-to-day basis doesn’t seem worth it. She pushes through it, though, and she slowly begins to soften Will and learn about the man he is. Together, they go on a journey, learning things about each other and doing things that will change both of their lives.

All I can really say about this book is, sigh. While reading I was happy and sad and swoony and mad and frustrated and excited and… You get the point. This won’t be a boring read for you and it will leave you feeling all kinds of things. It’s such a unique and amazing story that you simply have to check it out for yourself. Jojo Moyes is an extremely talented writer and she came up with something that will live on forever. A high five, three tears, and one angry yell for the story of Will and Louisa!
