it was ok
bookshelves: fantasy

A very mediocre fantasy novel that got a fair number of good reviews. It's a sign of the genre's general mushiness that this should be so. Fairly interesting resurrection sequences starts it, but then we descend into magic duels. Describing magical fights is a lot like describing a rock and roll Battle of the either becomes endlessly allegorical or impossible to picture or sense. In either case, BORING. Final 300 pages seemed like 3,000 ENDLESS pages.
