I really rather enjoyed this book and it the series shows great promise. It is a hearty mix of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Karen Marie Monnings Fever series sprinkled with a dash of Gail Carrigers Parasol Protectorate series.

This is really an enjoyable romp through an alternative Victorian Edinburgh and it really is a great story that mixes the Scottish Folklore of the mystical and magical Fae. What happens next, is any ones guess as May has left us on a cliffhanger. I think this was the only downside to the book as I found I had to reread the last couple of pages to grasp what had happened. However, I will be picking up the next book as I thought this was a real promising start to a new name in the genre
