When Crew (Gorgeous hunky, Crew...sigh!) learns a little of the truth of who he is from his dying father, then the story begins, (along with Sage, who's on her own quest, too, and to whom he's drawn to since they first met.) As the truth of the past is unearthed, I got sucked in. This story wouldn't let go until I found out all I needed to know. And rejoiced, with a 'hell, ya!!!' when the villain got his comeuppance, and in a way that left me totally satisfied! --LOL.
The world-building for Defy the Stars is phenomenal. It grabbed me and kept me first in the lovely Alderwood, then the terrifying, icy Wintervine. The mix of genre and mystical, magical beings--I loved everything about it!
Yeah, the romance might not have been the focus of this tale (big romance lover here :D), but I loved the fact the author kept the couple together through the story and enjoyed their dynamics.
In all, a thrilling read with some heartstopping moments....more

The twists and turns in The Omen of Crows Nest is a nail-biting ride and kept me glued to the unfolding story, needing to know what the heck really happened. Did those crows truly kill her father? There are a few characters who could have... ah, you have to read this to find out! You won't be disappointed. Loved the red herrings thrown in, and kept me guessing, especially about the Rainers. Never saw that one coming.
Aw, Dean. Love him! He's way hot and so supportive of Pen, and she's been through a lot with all the secrets, being locked up. Yes, she puts the people she loves in danger at times, trying to find out the truth, but caught in nightmares that haunt her, one cannot blame her. As for the Gramma? Ugh, she was awful.

More, this story also explores the complexities of first love and dealing with family difficulties. The characters are wonderfully written, and the pacing alternating between past and present, taking you deeper into the story. The narrative’s intense, showcasing humanity at its worst and its best.
Penned by the amazing Ms. Constantine—I’ve read a few of her books, and loved them all—and this one takes you on one heck of a ride trying to figure out who did it. And I couldn’t turn the page fast enough to find out the truth. What a whopper that was. Nope, not gonna say, you have to read it to find out :))

Even though this is Seeley's story, I absolutely loved the black-haired, emerald-eyed Jack. And I wanted so much more of him. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. I enjoyed the evolution of his character arc. Coming from a dark background, as a child raised to worship Satan, to meeting Seeley, Jack never knew love. And to finally finding it and putting himself at even greater risk to protect the ones he loves. Even though the book ends with a HFN, and though I just wished for a better ending for him, it all made sense.
