Because of that, you should buckle down as you settle to read the book for there are many Ah! Moments that do not seem to stop until the epilogue at the end! I have to say I very much enjoyed it, and without giving the plot away, you should expect this to be the story of a man who marries a woman only to erase her and replace who she is with a version of a wife he thinks he is entitled to, all in the name of love. Sadly a recurring story even in this day and age. A must read. ...more

One day Fiona returns home to find people moving in, her stuff along with her husband and two children are gone, how and when and where and why, remains to be seen! I enjoyed how the mystery unfurls, though I hated the bit at the end and found it unnecessary, perhaps it was just to add the checkmate moment for a twist, but overall, highly recommended and truly enjoyable 👍🏻...more

The symptoms of loneliness are universal and if you’ve ever liked, and missed awkward and lost charachters - like Dathra- then you’ll absolutely love this book ❤️ ...more

I felt so bad yet could totally relate to how poor Keiko is so different that society won’t let her be yet she found her place in the world and all what she wants is to be left to enjoy her weirdness and chosen life style. I was incredulous, then furious, at how everyone seemed to know what is best for her because it fits with what they have decided it is normal regardless of how she feels. Without giving the plot away, you will be left scratching your head at the leech that everyone views as a welcome change and an ending that almost left me whooping in glee. Leave people alone, let them be as weird or normal as they chose! Live and let live! P.S. This book will make you mad, and sad, but I do not see the humor some readers are talking about. Heart wrenching more like, it would however make you want to throw something at the next nosey person you encounter in life....more

Now I’ve turned the last of the pages down, I have to say I’d loved it if bits of the middle of the story where the truth was surely and obviously staring everyone in the face were shortened and the pace had quickened up to make way for the end to unravel in a bit more details with more chapters. It is one of those stories where when the end comes, it is not enough as you want to go back to each character and get their opinion on the ending. An epilogue would have done as well, we needed a bit more.
Recommended without doubt, it will make one enjoyable read for sure. ...more

Though near the third quarter of the book I’ve gotten a bit bored and almost flipped through to the end, I kept reading and was rewarded by another nice twist in the epilogue. ...more
Though the plot isn't very original, two children switched at birth, families devastated & how will they cole etc., I was more intrigued by the title Though the plot isn't very original, two children switched at birth, families devastated & how will they cole etc., I was more intrigued by the title that the summary, for "The Stranger in My Home" implied to me that somehow the child that is found is somehow brought into the family home and danger ensues. As you read on, you will get deeper and deeper into the personality of narrating mother and feel both heartbreak at her misfortune earlier in her life and puzzlement as to why she won't care about her actual birth daughter when she clings annoyingly to the one she raised and made her the center of the universe? Though this goes on for a bit too long you almost feel its like a diary, suddenly danger does indeed ensue and in the most breathtaking way when you least expect it! It was worth the wait and totally made up for the ordinary yet neurotic mom's journal that ate up a good bit of the book. The title still missed the marker even with the surprising end though. ...more

Kate did, and became an expat, only her mistakes and her past are adamant on following her wherever she went!
You can tell the writing is good from the prelude, and you know the lies and secret are buried at a deeper and more astonishing level. Once I really decided to read it, I literally couldn't put it down, often finding myself asleep with the nightstand light on because I simply wouldn't let go.
Sometimes, the thread of story spools on three very different time lines which, at one point in the story, made my head spin, rendering me impatient. Other Times, something are just mentioned for the sake of being mentioned, which in my haste to uncover the big secret made me stumble and wish I didn't have to read through it to, but to say the shadowy espionage of an ex-spy turned loving mom and doting housewife is still chockfull of surprises, strength, and confidence. I would recommend it for sure. ...more
