The first thing that I didn't like was the third person narrative. Love is too intimate a topic to be written about in third person. I just didn't connect well enough with the story because of this.
Secondly, misleading title. I felt that this book focused more on the father-daughter relationship than the romance. It was more about Hadley growing up, accepting the choices her father made, her stepmom etc..
A few other incidents such as Hadley just running away after the wedding, abrupt. And what was even more bemusing was that she found Oliver in probably one of the biggest cities in the world with just 10 pounds in her purse. Love can do wonders you say, nah, don't buy it.
It did have a few good moments, mostly during the plane ride. Oliver's making up fantastical projects, the old lady passenger are examples.
Overall, it had too many bumps and too few magical moments. Recommended only for teenage girls....more
I really regret reading this book. Seriously, this is not me usually, but the book was so pathetic that it didn't even deserve one star.

The plot, oh wait, how can I talk about something that doesn't exist? The book ended when Christian told anastasia about himself. There is nothing after that. The same repetitive stuff. I barely got through it.
The protagonist Ana Steele and her sex god Christian Grey are two messed up people. Seriously dude, getting her to sign a contract? I can see Christian being a nut job, he was abused as a teenager by his mother's friend, but Ana? Seriously girl, he isn't hovering over your head, watching you. Talk about him with your roommate or even your mom. And learn to say NO. You don't like something, just STAND UP. And she was graduating from college, pretty mature huh?
I was thinking of getting hold of the whole series, but now forget it....more
