I said yes to both.
RVD has taken us on a journey over the past decade and destroyed our hearts, only giving pieces back a little at a time. Broken Crown is no different. Beautifully written and emotionally draining–King’s story is everything. Be ready for anything to happen. Go in expecting the unexpected and to be cheering and ugly crying (at the same time) by the end.
This is the ending to the story that her readers needed and, most likely, the ending that the characters needed and deserved. The characters–the building blocks of this epic mafia story–are there making us laugh, making us cry, and making us yell at the book we’re reading, while still somehow making us swoon....more

To sum it up–she is the quintessential non-swimmer thrown into the deep end of the pool. Rachel Van Dyken throws us all in the deep end with Grace so that we can watch her navigate life outside of the states, in a culture she’s never been immersed in before.
As someone who has never heard a K-pop song and who knows nothing about K-pop, I can adamantly say that RVD has given her readers an engaging and emotional experience. Isn’t that what we’re all looking for in a good book? My Summer in Seoul has all the emotions and engaging dialogue, plus she’s added some drama and romance to make this the best novel I’ve read in a while.
From awkward moments to bullies, we are there as Grace handles it all. While Grace’s heart goes on a wild roller coaster ride, we are along for the entire experience. Even if you’ve never listened to K-pop (or adore K-pop), read My Summer in Seoul and enjoy the journey!...more

It iThe mafia world that RVD has created has so much depth and interesting characters it feels like you are reading about a family you know and love. It is no different with Fallen Royal–these books are a welcome escape and I, for one, am thankful for Rachel Van Dyken’s talent for writing incredible stories.
Maksim and Izzy’s story is so unique and hauntingly beautiful. I went in with no idea what would happen, and those twists blew me away. Fallen Royal differs from any other of her mafia books, but I can only say that it is an emotional rollercoaster. I shed more than a few tears and laughed at the family antics.
The twists were unexpected and added to the growing angst in the story, but ultimately made this romance an emotionally charged must-read. Here’s your warning to go in prepared, with wine and tissues....more

From the first page, you could see Melissa Foster’s newest release is an emotional journey of two opposites on the path to finding where they belong. From the first page, you could see the fireworks between Desmond (“Diesel”) and Tracey.
Diesel is the strong, grunting type and is a man of very few words. He’s fierce, but his love is even more powerful. He protects those he cares for and doesn’t back down.
Tracey is also strong, but she’s more of a little powerhouse. They both have baggage, and the author slowly drags some of that baggage to the forefront of the story so that we, the readers, can grow even more attached to both Tracey and Diesel.
I’ll admit that I cried. When Diesel was dealing with his past and how it affected those around him and how it affected him, especially. I loved watching both characters grow to care more about each other and find a home where they belonged.
Melissa deserves an A+ for emotional writing and tugging on our heartstrings in Running on Diesel. A lovely romance with strong main characters and a wonderful supporting cast of friends and family....more

Dash Pennington is everything women look for in a romantic partner–emotionally connected, loving, and someone who will look out for her well-being, above all.
Melissa Foster’s newest book, Sweet, Sexy Heart, is a must-read this summer. Get swept up in Amber and Dash’s small-town romance. While there is a little drama, there isn’t a lot of angst in this story. I appreciated the role family played in their love story and how the author always knows just what to write to pull on those heartstrings.
It’s been a minute since I’ve fallen into a book and read non-stop in one sitting. Dash and Amber’s story was just what I was needing. Just when you think you weren’t missing anything–along comes Melissa Foster with another great love story....more
