Shy Gal was an enjoyable read. Being an introvert, and having been shy in grade school I could relate to much of how Bella, our protagonist, feels. I had my own “Brianna”, Bella’s nemesis.
The characters are interesting.
The book is well written and I would recommend it to both young introverts and extroverts to read. It’s good to know you’re not alone.
It would also help extroverts understand our need for space and recharging.

You do need to read the first two books as the set up the third, and gets you involved with the characters. You really get emotionally committed to the protagonists in this novel.
The story takes place in two times: the early 1300s and the 2050s. There is time travel involved and the 1300s is very realistically portrayed. It is more a novel about human nature than anything else.
The first two books could have been slightly shorter and/or combined. However, having said that, I DID enjoy the story very much and would recommend this to any of my SF-loving friends, especially if they enjoy plausible/realistic time-travel storied. ...more

Karen writes in a humorous and delightful way of her adventures in a small French village, and how her very picky children learn to eat everything and enjoy all kinds of food.
This is a must have for all parents of young children.

Perhaps I read it too long after it was written and the ideas no longer were relevant. Perhaps I was not in the right frame of mind to read this book at this time. I am a fan of Seth Godin but found this book missed the mark. Or, perhaps I just did not understand what he was trying to say. Sorry. Not my cup of tea....more
