Every time I pick up one of Jana Aston's books, I know it's going to be a fun, sexy, light hearted read... and exactly what I NEED! Right from the beginning I loved that Violet put herself in a position outside of her comfort zone. It may've been in a bar contemplating a one night stand, but I was rooting for her to make it all the way! Then to step in for her sister... I didn't think she could pull it off, but she kept surprising me over and over!
Jennings, oh how I loved that British hunk of meat! He knew that “Daisy” (Violet) was hiding something, but couldn't pin point what it was. He was sweet, taking Violet on an incredible date. He was attentive, listening to everything that she told him. But he was dominating too, and would take over when Violet needed him to.
I loved seeing Violet and Jennings together. They had a fierce connection and I enjoyed watching them get to know one another. They were sizzling in the bedroom and experienced a lot of intimate and sweet moments together as well. However they were both holding onto a secret and were afraid that it would tear them apart.
Jana Aston sure knows how to deliver a read that makes me smile and I fall for all the characters every time! She combines the right amount of humour, sexiness and hunkiness that has me coming back for more. I have a feeling we may get another read from this world as a few hints were dropped, so I am REALLY excited!...more

This book, you guys, was such a heartbreaking but beautiful read! I honestly didn't realise how much it would affect me. The Beautiful Now was such a roller coaster ride of emotion and turmoil... and I just wanted, no needed Brinkley and Dane to find their way back to one another!
Brinkley and Dane never seemed to get a start. Their attraction began early in life, but society and threats kept them apart. Brinkley's mother married into money, and expected certain things from Brinkley, but the heart wanted what the heart wanted. Dane was a sweet guy, and I could she he had a crush on Brinkley early on. He seemed to be there during some difficult times when she needed him. Each interaction brought them closer together, and their connection was undeniable.
The Beautiful Now was told from Brinkley's perspective, and it alternated between 2004 and her early years. The early years were import parts to Brinkley's story and shaped her into the woman she became. The part of the book from 2004 was probably my favourite part as I got to see Brinkley and Dane as adults. There were secrets and hurt feelings between them, but I knew that they would work hard to try and regain what they once had.
Michelle Leighton is one of my favourite authors, and her most recent novels have been written with so much soul. My heart broke for what Brinkley and Dane lost, but managed to mend as they found their way again. But it wasn't always smooth sailing and I shed a few tears. Being a mother myself I was able to relate to this story and I would do ANYTHING to protect my children. It has got to be one of my favourite reads by M. Leighton....more

I always love a good bad boy read and Logan was just what I thought it would be. However, there was a side to Logan that lurked behind his cocky attitude that he kept hidden with the use of drugs. It was something deep that was hinted at a few times, but until it was revealed it remained a whisper in the back of my mind.
I really loved Logan for most of the book, with his carefree attitude and his sexy appeal. He was sweet when he wanted to be and loved his family with all that he had. He fell into an easy relationship with Aubrey, seeing more to her than the quiet, quirky, party girl she appeared to be. She brought out a tenderness in him that most people didn't know about.
Aubrey didn't have any real friends in town, and although her relationship with Logan got off to a rocky start, they formed a connection. I really liked Aubrey; how kind she was and everyone that she met genuinely liked her. She had her own style and was brave enough to start a new business on her own. When she was with Logan, I could see they complimented one another, but there was darkness lurking, and it would bring chaos to their lives.
When the crap hit the fan between Logan and Aubrey, I didn't know whether I loved Logan or not. His story broke my heart, but it was the way that things were handled that made it so hard!! Both Logan and Aubrey struggled, but I still had hope that they could find one another again!
I loved the strong family connection that all the Preston's have. They have lost so much already, and will do anything for one another if needed. They welcomed Aubrey into the fold quickly, which made her life easier, but hard as well.
Jay McLean... I LOVED this read! I know it wouldn't have been easy to write, considering some of the sensitive material that it touched on, but it was put together beautifully. I love every moment of being it the Preston family world, and I cannot wait to come back again. Logan was flawed, but his story was woven perfectly! Thank you for this AMAZING read!...more
It has been a long time coming, but Five has finally arrived! I've had so many questions about him, sOriginal Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
It has been a long time coming, but Five has finally arrived! I've had so many questions about him, since reading the Rook and Ronin spinoff's and the Mister series. He has always known what he wanted, but had always been that guy no one could figure out. I just wanted him and Rory to be what we readers have always wanted... One!
Rory ended up back home after a quick text from her brother telling her Five was home. She got there as quick as she could because it had been a long time since they had seen each other. It saddened me to feel Rory's loss, at being apart from someone she had loved with everything that she had. I was able to see glimpses of their time together and Rory's determination to not let go of Five again.
Five had so many secrets, and they were all catching up with him. I was able to learn about a lot of them, and I could see what Five wanted for himself. However, he was always reluctant to act on what he wanted because of the dangers that it may bring to those we have all grown to love. But there was no denying his love for Rory... their chemistry was scorching, and they knew almost everything about one another!
I knew Five would have twists, and some of which I looked past to begin with until certain things were revealed and the penny dropped for me. I knew that the company would be involved, and that the danger would always be there, but Five and Rory are strong determined people and I knew they would find a way to beat the odds! They were perfect together, and despite the time apart were quick to rekindle their feelings and their relationship.
J.A. Huss sure knows how to weave a tale with plenty of sexual tension and swoony moments to keep me hooked. The mysterious side of the story kept me on the edge of my seat as the danger continued to grow. A number of the characters from this generation made appearances in the story, leaving me wanting more. My only complaint, it was no where near long enough! I want more early days of Five and Rory, the awkward moments, the sweet times, and the protective father stepping in to lay the law! Overall though, it was terrific, and I know this is not the end... we'll be back in this world soon!...more
Chantal Fernando is back with an all new series called Conflict of Interest. Breaching the Contract, the firstOriginal Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
Chantal Fernando is back with an all new series called Conflict of Interest. Breaching the Contract, the first book in the series, was a short read, but it was was packed full of great characters, amazing chemistry and an entertaining plot!
Kat landed her job at the firm, fresh out of law school. She was a bright and confident girl who wasn't afraid to go after what she wanted. She fitted into her new job well, and had good guidance from Jaxon Bentley. One of the other partners, Tristan Channing, made things difficult for Kat, but like the strong willed girl she was, she managed to put her issues aside to get the job done.
Tristan was an abrupt and broody guy, but it wasn't long before I found out why he was so tough. He kept people at arms length and rarely let people in after what he had already lost. I loved getting to know him and seeing the other side to Tristan and meeting his family.
I always love getting lost in Chantal Fernando's books. These characters in particular were like anyone that I could relate to. They may not have been looking for love, but found it when they least expected it. I adored the supporting characters: the other characters at the firm, as well as Tristan's kids, Laura and Logan. My only complaint is that it was too short! I would've liked the story to be fleshed out a bit more towards the end, where it felt a little rushed. However, I'm looking forward to more books in this series!...more
What an amazing read If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout turned out to be! It's the type of bookOriginal Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
What an amazing read If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout turned out to be! It's the type of book that will leave a huge impact on the reader, and I know it will be on my mind for a long time to come. I fell in love with all the characters and my heart shattered when I realised what happened. It was truly a masterpiece, and I cannot imagine how difficult this story would've been to write.
The characters were just like other normal teenagers, finishing their final year of school, but they weren't perfect, they made mistakes and one decision changed life as they knew it. The emotional turmoil I felt was amazing. I saw the close friendships that had been developed, the love that was strong between others, but I also felt the loss and the difficulty of trying to get past a situation that had turned numerous lives upside-down.
Lena was such a nice sweet girl, who had close friends and her best friend was Sebastian. She wasn't a popular girl, more of a nerdy girl who loved to read. She had it a little hard at home, as her parents had split, but she was positive and bubbly most of the time. I could see that her relationship with Sebastian was shifting, but they were both struggling with those teenage emotions and hormones. I loved Sebastian, he was the jock guy, but he was kind and caring and always had time for Lena.
Jennifer L. Armentrout is an author that I have loved over the years. She creates characters that are easy to relate to and puts them in situations that we may face at some stage in our lives. The connection between the characters felt real and I was hoping that Lena and Sebastian would be able to get through the rough time together. I hope we get more stories from this world, because I would love to see other perspectives of this situation....more
I'm a sucker for romances involving royalty, so I was excited to get my hands on Royal Pain! It's not all funOriginal Review @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
I'm a sucker for romances involving royalty, so I was excited to get my hands on Royal Pain! It's not all fun and games, as Prince Garrett was kidnapped, and Prince Kian had to step up into his brother's shoes. However I loved watching the sparks ignite between Prince Kian and Savvy!
Prince Kian was exactly like the cocky playboy I expected him to be in the beginning, having women all around him and using them for his own pleasure. When his brother disappeared, he soon stood up when needed. I liked seeing this change in Kian, as he understood the importance of his role in the family. He just didn't want the stuck up girls chasing him.
Savvy was definitely my kind of girl; cheeky, amusing and independent. She had secrets, but I liked seeing her let go and be in the moment with Kian. It was sad to see why she was insecure, and hesitant when it came to Kian, but he had that way of getting under a girls skin.
Tracy Wolff is an author I love to read, as she builds characters that I adore and puts them in a setting that I want to be in. Kian and Savvy were from two different worlds, but they had amazing chemistry! I enjoyed meeting some secondary characters and I can't wait to see more of them. I just wished there was more interaction between the characters, and not so much inner dialogue, but it won't stop me from picking up the next book in the series!...more
